With its cropped hem that sits just below the hips, here is a coat that will not engulf those of us who are 5’6” and under – yay!

It has enough of the trench detailing to make it look classic: the broad lapels, the shoulder flaps, the double-breasted buttons and the concealed flap pockets.

But there are a couple of things that make it modern.

Firstly, the wide self-belt that sits above the natural waist– wear it either flat and looped around the body, or tied traditionally.

Secondly, the ¾ sleeves can also be rolled up and tabbed, making it work for both winter and summer.
